AMBER KIM BIO.
Kinesiologist, Biologist, Massage Therapist, Kinesio Tape Practitioner, RYT-200, CrossFit Level 1 trainer, CrossFit Gymnastics Trainer, Writer
I have been an athlete all of my life, playing soccer and gymnastics as a child, and then I played soccer during college. I remained very active throughout my college years and kept that as part of my regular wellness routine. I did not fall into the healthcare and Fitness field as my first career. After I finished college I began work as an elementary school teacher and then worked in the corporate sector. I felt that these fields were not my calling in life and decided to overhaul my career choices. I found that I loved kinesiology and human Anatomy so I enrolled at Northwest Academy of Healing Arts in Tacoma, Washington to become a massage therapist. I have been practicing massage therapy ever since. I found that I loved Kinesio Tape after an injury to my right shoulder. I had 3 surgeries so during my physical therapy they used this technique. I have since attended all four Kinesio Taping trainings and became a CKTP.
i then realized I loved biology and wanted to further my knowledge in the sciences, so I decided to go back and get my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a specialization in Microbiology and Human Anatomy and Physiology from the University of North Carolina. I always knew I loved fitness, so I decided to take steps to become trained in different areas of the field. I first attended Yoga Teacher Training 200-hour level in Charlotte, NC. I was also an avid CrossFitter at the time, so I went to training in 2012 and became a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Trainer and in 2013 I went and became a CrossFit Gymnastics Trainer.
I have begun to study other avenues of science, so I decided to go back to college and got accepted at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas's Kinesiology Program in the allied health department, which I am currently graduating. Even though my first love will always be science, I also love art and sewing, and attend classes in the arts - specifically drawing. I guess you can call me a lifelong learner. Sometimes I do sell my work as far as making products - more information will be available in the future.
For information on my articles and writings please check out my publications tab. I write mostly about human biology and how it relates to fitness, as well as reviews on different products. Every now and then I do deviate from my norm to keep things interesting. I have been asked to be a fitness expert for other publications as well, which you will see under the publications tab. Thanks for checking out my website, and wish you a great day!
